Comments on our first showing:at Fort Harrod in Harrodsburg Kentucky

Many thanks Doc!  I heard so many good comments this last weekend about what you guys were doing.  We'll have to get our heads together in the coming months to figure out specifically what your organization will be needing for the 2011 "Settlement & Raid".  Once again; I can't thank you enough.  You and your friends were a very unique and impressive facet to our event.
                                                                       Be seeing you soon,
                                                                                     John Curry

With these in mind a small group of artists in Central Kentucky who do Living History Experimental Archeology and are also artists of one sort or another decided to form an organization that we may share with the rest of the 18th Century folks.

Our Purpose:

To promote History through the Arts

Mission:

To engage in artistic endeavors especially at 18th Century events for the enhancement of Art in all forms. Second, to teach and encourage others who are becoming artists. Third, to promote the membership.

Membership

Open to all Arts practitioners, including painters in any media, musicians, song writers, poets, carvers, guilders, presentation actors, sculptors. And any other of the arts of the 18th century, up to and perhaps excluding con artists. Secondly members are to be Kentucky Residents.

Goals

To provide a place where interested persons or Organizations may look to find persona to fulfill needs such as portraits, drawings, artifact reproductions, First Person Presentations, music provider for events, etc. (We already have an association for preachers)

Fees

No fees are expected except for a small fee to maintain a website. Perhaps a small membership fee to start our organization for web site, advertisement etc.

Basically, this association will be modeled loosely after the Royal Academy of Britain in the 1760's, even with an annual event in the plan. First thought on that would be to make it the first weekend of April as a beginning of the season for our other re enacting events.

Comments and questions are welcome, and you may just have the answer!

The first five members were designated as charter members and are:

Dennis Edward Muzzy

Tony Richardson

Mark Selter

Jon Hagee and

Donovon Howard

The first weekend event added to that Mel Hankla, Howard Carr who works for Fort Harrod, and Gerry Barker. Please feel free to invite any others to join in with our little organization.

Check back for updates on websites of members.

And as one of our members so aptly puts it: "Thanks for being!"
